Basketball Court Construction

A basketball court has to give consistent grip, controlled ball bounce and enough cushioning to protect players through fast stops and jumps. We build courts to suit the setting: hard-wearing acrylic systems for outdoor and community courts, modular tiles where a quick, drainable surface is wanted, and timber or vinyl for premium indoor halls.
We install full courts and half courts, and set them out accurately for the format you need, whether that is a school court used for lessons and clubs, a community court for casual play, or an academy court used intensively. Where a court is shared with other sports, we can mark it as a multipurpose court in clear, separated colours.
The base and preparation are as important as the surface. For outdoor acrylic courts we build a rigid, level base with correct falls, then apply the resurfacer, cushion layers where specified and coloured wear coats, finishing with precise line marking so the court looks sharp and plays true.

The build-up
An acrylic basketball court build-up
- Colour coat. Pigmented acrylic wear coats providing the playing colour and texture.
- Cushion layers. Rubberised acrylic layers tuned for comfort where specified.
- Resurfacer. Acrylic resurfacer that levels and binds to the base.
- Asphalt or concrete base. Rigid base laid to correct falls for drainage.
- Compacted sub-base. Engineered sub-base carrying the whole system.

Custom branding
Colours and line marking
Courts can use two-tone colour schemes to define the key and three-point areas, with club or school colours and logos applied at centre court. Multi-sport marking is set out in distinct colours so each game reads clearly.

Outdoor basketball in the UAE
Outdoor acrylic uses colour-stable pigments that resist strong sun, and a textured finish that keeps grip in the dry. We build proper falls so the court sheds water quickly, and can advise on shade structures to keep the surface cooler and extend comfortable playing hours.

How much does a basketball court cost in the UAE?
It depends on whether the court is indoor or outdoor, the surface system, the base condition and the size. A cushioned indoor timber court differs greatly from an outdoor acrylic court, so we price after a site visit with a written specification.
What surface is best for an outdoor basketball court?
Acrylic is the most common outdoor choice: it is hard-wearing, colour-stable in the sun and gives consistent grip and bounce. Modular tiles are an alternative where fast drainage and easy installation matter more than a fully bonded finish.
Can one court be marked for basketball and other sports?
Yes. Multipurpose courts are common, especially in schools. We mark each sport in a separate, clear colour so the lines do not confuse players, and choose a surface that works well for all the intended games.
Do you build half courts for villas and communities?
Yes. Half courts are popular where space is limited. We set out the largest safe court for your plot, build the base and surface, install the hoop and mark it accurately for casual or practice play.
