We supply and install shock pads and underlays across the UAE, the elastic layer beneath turf, courts and play surfaces that adds comfort, safety and consistency.
A shock pad is the layer you do not see but feel in every step. Installed beneath artificial turf, sports surfaces and play areas, it adds cushioning that protects players, improves comfort and, on sport surfaces, helps deliver consistent ball behaviour. On play areas it contributes to fall protection alongside the surface above.
Shock pads come as prefabricated rolls and sheets or as in-situ poured systems, in different thicknesses and densities. The right choice depends on the surface above, the sport or use, and any performance or safety requirement to be met. We specify the pad as part of the whole system, not as an afterthought.
Getting the pad right matters because it works with the base and the surface as one system. We prepare the base to the correct levels, install the pad so it lies flat and continuous, then lay the surface above, so the finished result is comfortable, safe and consistent underfoot.

The build-up
How shock pads and underlays is built
- Turf pile. UV-stabilised synthetic fibres tufted to the required pile height.
- Performance infill. Silica sand and rubber granules that support the fibres and add grip.
- Shock pad. Elastic layer for player comfort and consistent ball behaviour.
- Compacted base. Engineered aggregate base laid to precise levels and falls.
- Drainage sub-base. Free-draining sub-base and drainage to clear occasional heavy rain.

UV, heat and drainage
Shock pads sit beneath the wear surface, so they are protected from direct sun, but drainage still matters: we use pads and details that let water pass to the drained base below, so the whole system clears rain quickly and stays sound.
Upkeep
Maintenance and lifespan
A correctly installed shock pad is essentially maintenance-free for the life of the surface above it, since it is protected beneath the wear layer. When a surface is eventually replaced, the pad is assessed and reused or renewed as appropriate.

Does a shock pad need maintenance?
No, not on its own. Once installed beneath the wear surface it is protected and effectively maintenance-free for the life of that surface. When the surface is replaced, we assess whether the pad can be reused or should be renewed.
